Days Of Jubilee

After a day and a half of setting up and months of spending time with the Lord for this outreach we were ready to begin Jubilee 2007.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening and Sunday morning services we were ushered into the Throne Room and unto the lap of our Heavenly Father by Jim & Marcena Bates. We were then welcomed and taken into the Scriptures by Rocky Burson and Merwin Rhoades of Steering Wheel Ministries.

jubilee-2007-15.jpg
Rod was just one of the drivers who stopped by during the day, and others came at night, to talk to us on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Rod is a long time friend of Steering Wheel Ministries.

Saturday was Trucker's Appreciation Day from Noon to 8:00 where drivers enjoyed the free food while hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through great live Gospel music and personal testimony.

Merwin and Debbie's grandson, Caleb, and Jennifer, a friend of the ministry, take turns on the CB inviting the drivers to stop by.

Chaplains Rocky Burson and Don Carter made sure they get the hamburger just right.

Again this year, just before 8:00 Saturday evening, we ended Trucker's Appreciation Day with a "campfire" where one lady gave her life to Christ as we talked around the fire roasting hotdogs and marshmallows.

I apologize that the pictures did not turn out this year so this is a picture from last year.

If you missed being with us this year you missed a great time of refreshing. Every day in every service and on Saturday during the Trucker's Appreciation Day program the presence of the Holy Spirit was stronger and stronger and climaxed in the Sunday morning service. Every year is better than previous years, so plan now for May 14 - 18, 2008 as we know it will be even better as God takes control.

We know of two who gave their lives to Jesus Christ, how many more only God knows. To God is the Glory!!!

** The dates for 2008 at Pollard Flat USA are, May 14-18.

** Starting on Wednesday, May 14 through Friday, May 16 we will have an evening service at 7:00 in the tent.

** Saturday will be our annual Trucker's Appreciation Day from Noon 'till 8:00 followed by a campfire 'till ?:00.

** Sunday, May 18 we will have a morning church service at 10:00.

Plan now to be with us for a great five Days Of Jubilee in 2008.

Pollard Flat is a family owned truck stop located on I-5 north of Redding, CA at Exit 712.

* Ron and Kathy Green of Reflections Of Love Ministries opened and closed the four hours of ministry with Country Gospel music.
* Jerry Ott and his "team" known as The Glory Road Travelers ministered with more Country Gospel music.
* Greg and Brinda Bradshaw and some of their friends ministered with praise and worship music.
* (not pictured) Our own Chaplain Nick Hines ministered the Word of God between music sets while the next group was setting up and led everyone in prayer.

Once again we had a great line up of music:
* Pastor Dave Gomez, of Jerusalem Center in Medford, OR came up with part of the worship team from his church came and ministered in spoken word and in song. They had a great variety of styles of music that got the attention of those around who would not have come and listened to anything else.
* Freddie Smith ministered with Country Gospel music and the spoken Word of God.
* Ron and Kathy Green of Reflections Of Love Ministries ministered with Country Gospel music and the spoken Word of God.
* Jack Frost closed the program with a great summery by way of music and the spoken Word of God.
* Bruce Curren is our sound man for our outreaches like this. We thank Bruce for all his hard work in keeping each of the groups sounding good.

This time we did something different from what we have done before, we gave away chili-dogs. This got some to come over who would not have come - praise the Lord Jesus Christ!

Food for the body was available free.

Each December we put together homemade cookie packages that we give out on Christmas Day. Yes, Steering Wheel Ministries has been in the truck stops on Christmas Day every year since 1995. We put 8 to 10 homemade cookies in each package along with a Gospel booklet or tract, and a note from Steering Wheel Ministries.

With the help of 12 area churches and KGRV AM 700, on Christmas Day 2007 Steering Wheel Ministries gave away all 533 Gospel cookie packages between Rice Hill Pilot at I-5 Exit 148 and Love's at I-5 Exit 119. We had teams of volunteers taking two hour shifts starting at 8:00 Christmas morning until 8:00 that evening. Actually, we gave out the last package just after 6:00 at Love's and just after 7:00 at Rice Hill.

Now for the BIG PRAISE REPORT!!! Before our teams left Rice Hill Christmas night, one truck driver gave his life to Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord!!! PRAISE THE LORD that is what the day is all about!!! There may have been more, as they read the tract we put in this year, "What Money Can't Buy, the Woody Clark story" Woody is the owner of Woodpecker Truck.

I am pleased and blessed to be able to announce that another 108 Gospel cookie packages were given out at Pilot truck stop in Chemult, OR on Hwy. 97. One driver, who received a cookie package from Chemult called our office on Christmas Day to say "thank you" and express how much it meant to him.

... to the following churches and ministries for helping Steering Wheel Ministries with the Gospel Cookie packages on Christmas Day 2007.
