Dear Friends:
On February 22 I received a phone call from another trucking ministry asking me if we had the 2x4s for the mobile chapel. I told him we did not have them and were still praying for them. He told me to go get them because the check was going out that day or the next. God had just blessed them and they wanted to share that blessing with us by helping to meet this need.
I started working on purchasing the 2x4s from a local mill so they would not cost as much. God put me in touch with the right person at a mill right here in Roseburg and we now have the 2x4s.
We also have the main electrical supplies so all we need now is:
7 single tube four foot shop lights - (We will settle for 7 double tube lights. They are for indirect lighting in the chapel area.); 1 double tube four foot shop or household light; 1 double tube 18 inch? Light for small bathroom; 200 feet of black 12 volt wire (another color is ok); 200 feet of white 12 volt wire (another color is ok).
A man who was junking a camper let us come and salvage the RV waste tanks and fresh water tank and a few other things including the kitchen sink.
Please understand that GOD is the ONE Who has done all this, not me. I have had people telling me that I should have gotten after this a long time ago and gotten this done. I have not done anything different now than I have done all along. The difference is that this is now God's timing to get this chapel on the road.
We still need the horizontal propane tank to mount under the trailer and the furnace and air conditioner. God has brought us these other needed items so He will bring us the rest as well.
I had a great reminder this past Sunday of how important it is to get this chapel on the road. The morning service was over and the last driver was leaving when another driver came in and sat down. We started talking and another man came in and then a third driver came in. The second man had to leave but before he left the four of us prayed together. The remaining two stayed until after 1:30. We discussed different areas of God's Word as they brought them up. I had to keep watch on the door to the TV Room where we were to make sure no one wanted to come in and watch TV but God fixed it so we were free to talk. With the 18-wheel Mobile Chapel we will have many more drivers coming because they will know that there is someone there who understands them. They will be able to stay as long as they need to 24/7. As a note of interest, I get to the truck stop by 6:30 and the service starts at 8:00 so you can see how long I was there that Sunday. It is even better with an 18-wheel mobile chapel because they know they can talk to you then because even the most skeptical drivers know you understand them so even more come in and stay.
God has blessed us with a chaplain who is rarin' to get out there. He is a truck driver, a singer/song writer and a preacher. I have ministered with him and seen him at work and he is truly a man of God. His name is John McCann. The only thing holding him back right now is his need to raise his support. If you feel God's call to send him support each month you can send it to Steering Wheel Ministries designated for John McCann that way you can get your tax-deductible donation receipt. John and his wife Kathryn need to have a livable amount of support raised by mid May, as the plan is to have them on the Chapel at that time.
Thank you for doing your part so we can reach more drivers for Jesus Christ, and to build them up in their faith in Him.
In Christ's service,
