April, 2010
Dear Friends:
The date was Saturday, March 13, when my son-in-law, Tim, and I, (ok, he will be my son-in-law come 6 PM on April 9) were on our way to take the holding tanks and other goodies out of the camper a man was demolishing when we stopped at the Rice Hill Pilot first. I was going to take the exit that would take us directly to the camper but at the last second I thought we should go to the truck stop first. We went there and I restocked and straightened out our literature rack. As we were walking out a lady driver, who had just been sitting there watching TV and reading said, "Thank you for the book". I stopped and said "You're welcome. Which book do you have?" She showed me it was "When Violence Comes Home" from RBC. She started telling me why the book was so good for her. She is in a very dangerous situation because a man invited himself to move in with her after she had walked away from the Lord. To say he is violent is putting it mildly. Tim and I talked with her and I prayed for her before we left. I shared with her how we almost went to tear out the holding tanks for our 18-wheel Mobile Chapel first but now I knew it was God who sent us to the truck stop first. She said she knew it too and she would not have been there later as she was doing her laundry, then sleep and go. I am very thankful that I listened to the Holy Spirit and went to the truck stop first. Also if we had waited we would not have gone because we were very muddy when we were finished getting the goodies out of the camper. I always restock the rack on Sunday mornings but I was not going to be there that Sunday, Jim was going to be there in my place, and we had some new supplies.
Tim and I salvaged everything that was salvageable. What we ended up taking to the chapel trailer was the RV tanks, water heater, converter, a couple of lights, two sets of switches and the kitchen sink. So praise the Lord with us that we were able to get these blessings. As I said, Tim and I got very muddy because the camper was in a mud hole but we had fun getting what God had there for us.
God used this lady driver to show me one more time how important it is for us to have the Mobile Chapel staffed and on the road and in the truck stops 24/7. We are missing a lot of drivers who need someone to talk with and pray with 7 days a week, not to mention those who need to come back to Jesus and those who need to get saved 7 days a week.

Next month, May 19-23, will be our annual Trucker’s Days Of Jubilee at Pollard Flat. This is where we put up our 20’x40’ tent and our two 10’x20’ canopies. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night is tent services at 7:00. Then on Saturday we take half of one side of the tent off and put up tables, and from 11:00 ‘till 9:00 we have live Christian music and we serve free hamburgers to nearly 200 drivers who stop by. Then from 9:00 ‘till about midnight we have a “campfire” and the drivers can roast hotdogs and marshmallows and make somores. We end with the Sunday morning worship service at 9:00.
June through September we have Trucker’s Afternoon Of Jubilee which is a smaller version of what we do at Pollard Flat. Trucker’s Afternoon Of Jubilee schedule looks like this: June 26 = Rice Hill Pilot @ I-5 Exit 148; July 17 = Chemult on Hwy 97; August 21 = Rice Hill Pilot; September 11 = Chemult .
Thank you for your support so we can have the 18-wheel Mobile Chapel on the road, keep our bills paid and have these outdoor outreaches. We are able to do this because of your sacrificial giving to the Lord and His work here at Steering Wheel Ministries. (FYI: the Mobile Chapel may not be 100% completed but it will be at Pollard Flat for Trucker’s Days Of Jubilee. Please do all you can to be with us at Pollard Flat this year, and at the other Jubilees as well, you will be blessed). Thank you again for your prayer and financial support.
Yours in Christ’s Service,
